Many impactful stories begin with tips from the public. We are constantly seeking insights into the companies and products that influence our daily lives, as well as information about government agencies that regulate technology and the environment. We encourage you to share any relevant stories that may have significant public interest. Evidence, such as firsthand experiences or documents, greatly enhances the value of your tip.
How to Submit Tips to The Verge
The simplest way to get in touch is via email. You can send your tips to our general tip email at tips@theverge.com.
If you feel you may face reprisals, it’s crucial to avoid using your work email, Wi-Fi, or devices when sending your tip.
Signal
Another secure option is to use the Signal app for sending tips. Signal provides end-to-end encryption for text messages and calls. While the app does store your number and the last time you accessed it, it does not retain records of your conversations. It is important to use a personal phone rather than a work device for this purpose. You can download Signal from your app store.
For specific staff contact information, email addresses and Signal accounts can be located on the author pages available in our staff list.
Depending on your version of Signal, you may need to add contacts before initiating a conversation. Once the communication starts, you can remove the contact if desired. For further advice on enhancing your security while using Signal, the Freedom of the Press Foundation provides useful guidelines.
In compliance with the best practices set forth by the Freedom of the Press Foundation, this page is served over HTTPS and does not include third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
